Woolly necked stork feeding
Observation details
The monsoon had brought lush green shoots throughout the forest. We spotted a pair of wooly necked storks, perhaps there was three, but i do not remember. They were rummaging through the verdant undergrowth. They were at lest 150 m away and did not appear to be peevish or scared in any way. The woolly-necked stork is a rare bird in these areas. I am seeing it for the first time in 3 years of coming here quite regularly (once or twice a month). I have only seen it in riverine forests and in marshes. We were indeed pleasantly surprised to find it here.
