Observation details
Struggled with this ID and did ask advice on WhatBird. After some work eliminated Hammond's and Dusky which brought it down to the "Western" species. I also looked at past IDs on Ebird where I saw that no Cordilleran had been observed this time of year at this location but, on an average of one, had been reported for PSFL. WhatBird advice agreed that this area could observe migratory birds but the COFL would migrate through mountains. It was also thought that the throat color and bill structure was closer to a PSFL. It was an ID by default by eliminating others. Found along creek of the birding trail but don't have an exact location as I didn't realize what I had seen until I edited photos.
