Media notes
social courtship groups of 6-8 males and one or two females; males gave continuous multi-syllabled whistles and performed displays, and occasionally chased, flew-at, and bit their rivals; females in the group slept or seemed to ignore the males; series of short turns kept the birds in the group more or less together in a circle; during one of the male displays, the feathers forming the green stripe on the side of the head of males were lifted and extended behind head so that momentarily, the profile was quite wood duck-like. Grunt-whistle, Down-up, and Bill-Up displays frequently performed by males were seen; certainly there were others, but the constant movement and short duration of each display made it rather difficult to identify the various displays. calls by males with occasional female quacks
