Observation details
Have photos that I will add later. Salient features: adult female; cleaner white throat (less streaking); tail not dipping or fanning when bird was hovering; green crown and hindneck as opposed to gray; smaller black bill with less curvature than black-chinned; tail exceeded wingtips more than just slightly. First observed and photographed by Jane Stulp at her feeders at 7PM on 5/5. We never saw the bird at the feeder, but rather perched in a tree in her front yard. On a later visit we saw a female black-chinned and it looked dramatically different. Another group of birders apparently saw both the BC and RT on the same visit.
