Media notes
Audio captured after it was dark of the 6 birds, tucked into their roost trees for the night.
Observation details
These 6 Yellow-headed Parrots may roost at night at 320 North Flower, in trees just north of park, across the street. They flew to these trees after all the other parrots had flown off. One adult, five immature. The adult had a yellow head that reached to shoulders. The immature were in various stages of yellow on forehead/face only. No red on face. Larger than other three species of parrot. First identified by loud, rolling/gurgling WOW-OW calls. Sounds very different from other three Amazona species.
