Recorded by: MEW North assisted by Bill and Annette Cottrell. Sex: 1 UNKNOWN; Cover density: OPEN; CLEAR MELANCHOLY WHISTLE. BIRD USUALLY SEEN IN FLIGHT AND SOMETIMES PERCHED ON BUSHES. BIRD WOULD MAKE A LOW HORIZONTAL FLIGHT (15M), THEN RAISE ITS WINGS GIVING THIS CALL WHILE ASCENDING SLIGHTLY, THEN FLAP AGAIN. J.F.M. HORNE FEELS THAT NORTH'S BEHAVIORAL DESCRIPTION POSSIBLY FITS THAT OF M. POECILOSTERNA RATHER THAN THAT OF M. RUFOCINNAMOMEA AS MYLES STATES UNCERTAINLY. BIRD HAD SOMEWHAT CRESTED DARK BROWN CROWN, DARK BROWN BACK AND WINGS BOTH STREAKED WITH WHITE, TAIL SHORT AND BROWN. ML: Subject changed from Mirafra sp. to M. pulpa based on the recommendation of James Bradley. -Matt Medler, 30 Oct 2013. Other Behaviors: Perform Visual Display.
