Observation details
I observed an American Avocet at Lecque Island's Eide Rd, Stanwood in Snohomish County on May 8th 2017, photo below, taken at 20:27 hours. Bird was observed wading and feeding in a shallow pond by the first duck blind. It was in the company of other birds; Mallards and Canada Goose. Sighting of the same bird was also made by an independent birder the following day at about 4pm in the same location. Bird was said to be inactive at that time. I have been back twice during daytime hours since the 9th, and not seen the Avocet.
