Observation details
Continuing.Seen in the first pond. Was with 4 Mottled Ducks.Feeding very actively. Was cautious and very alert. We watched the pintail for 40 minutes.Very crisp plumage. No "wear and tear" on the wings or tail,no bands, or ANY other sign of captivity. We had the pintail quite close.I took several photos and video for documentation.Out of all the e-bird reports,I think we got the best documentation of this vagrant. I have seen a couple other White-cheeked Pintails in the state that were clearly captive,or an escape, and they did not behave anything like this bird. This is a wild duck.A couple videos will be on my face book page if the moderator is interested.
