actually light carpel bar with dark seconaries
Observation details
small all-grey bird spotted by Bob Powers just south of the Berkeley pier near the distal end about 100 m. off the pier. We ID'd it and circled the boat around for better light. Long-tailed gray bird, w/ dark carpal bars, dark eye-patch, and small tuberose giving a declining look. We approached to document and it picked up and fly off, surprising since I thought it acted injured. There was a huge wind event the day before and likely helped blow this into the inner bay, tho was winds were offshore. A pomarine jaeger and common murre, plus record numbers of Brandt's cormorants were in the bay.
