Observation details
*beyond property boundary*. Seen late in the survey perched SSE of the start point in the top of a small Russian-olive close to the edge of the property. Suspected it was a RLHA due to the choice of perch, but it was not. Flew NE past a RLHA on a power pole crossbar along head Lane and landed in the top of another Russian-olive E of Head Ln, S of Sevenmile Creek, at the edge of the shrubby riparian zone. Very pale underwing and dark bellyband seen in flight; dorsally rusty tail seen upon flaring for landing. Very unusual appearance. After the survey, seen again in the top of another shrub farther downstream along Sevenmile Creek - it flew downstream before I could get a better photo. At that point, I noted gleaming white breast with darkish (black?) belly band; did not see any brown tones. I wondered if it might be a light-morph HALH; I wish I had seen it better.
