Observation details
First record in Newfoundland and Labrador. Identified as Trail’s Flycatcher (see discussion in the links). Alder Flycatcher is elimited using a spectrographic image obtained by D. Archibald McCallum (www.appliedbioacoustics.com/cv.html) from recording. Most likely an eastern subspecies which could be extremely similar to Alder Flycatcher and has more color variations than other three subspecies of Willow Flycatcher. Calls were recorded on November 10th, 2017, two days after the first sighting. The original recording is in m4a format. File uploaded to eBird has been transformed to mp3 format.
