Observation details

Observed the bird aggressively diving on a Caspian Tern. White underbelly, the rest of the bird brown, white wing patches on the underside stood out, two pointed retrices extending beyond the rest of the tail. The bird was right off the shoreline and headed back out to open water after a brief chase. We were in a truck on the beach.
