Observation details
Seemed to be defending a territory consisting of yards with several hummer feeders. Heard giving diagnostic crinkly metallic song. Eventually seen briefly. A fairly large hummer with iridescent red face, throat, and crown. The expected hummingbird species in Las Cruces during the winter (though Selasphorus continue to become more regular).
