Media notes
2 of the first 3 with a golden-crowned
Observation details
I walked 200m east from parking lot and found the first large group of sparrows. The first Harris's and swamp I saw were side by side in the same tree - incredible! Where the riparian area meets the sage I had 3 Harris's at the same time with a golden-crowned. I walked south to the main trail and had another Harris's (shown in 2nd photo) which had richer tones than the others I saw. I then walked 200m south, fighting my way through the tumbleweeds and encountered an even larger white-crowned flock of 100+ which had another Harris's (the 5th individual). On my way back to the trail I encountered a fox sparrow and another Harris's. The last Harris's had extensive sooty/brown wash down flanks which others lacked.
