Media notes
Does pale orangish bill coloration evident here indicate HY bird? [per Pyle, orange on lower mandible is consistent with HY Hammond's]
Observation details
Mostly yellow olive empid with a bit grayer tone on head [revision: head mostly olive, gray very limited, some on forecrown and behind auriculars; looks to be just exposed gray bases of feathers, with tips generally olive] (not typical contrast for this species? [Pyle says yes: head may be olive in fall]); relatively large head, slightly crested; whitish eyering broad front and back; very long primary extension and long tail [mischaracterization: tail is actually relatively short compared to overall body - see last photo], both nervously flicked a lot of the time. Made a complete circuit of the field edge in the time I was there.
