Media notes
For once the dog didn't start barking while I was recording although you can hear her leash tinkling in the recording
Observation details
I first heard the call notes which were distinct and clearly not something I had heard before.. Louder than any sparrow I've heard before. When I first heard the call it seemed to consist of two distinct notes in succession with a warble but that is not what I ended up recording. It took some time to track down the bird. I only had a quick glimpse before it disappeared in to some wild rose bushes that were not accessible, so carried on. Both the recording and photo were taken on the return trip when the bird was back up in the bushes calling. Thanks to Ken Wright for giving me directions to the bird although it was not in the area he had seen it earlier today, but rather where he had seen two yesterday.
