Observation details
This bird was found along the eastern shore with the Bushtits. It was calling infrequently and was not a call we recognized from the oak zones of Nevada Co. Because the bird is found in nearby counties on the eastern side of the Sierra, it seemed much more likely that it was a Juniper Titmouse than an Oak Titmouse. The bird is much grayer with no brown on the wing surfaces or crest which also indicates Juniper Titmouse. There is a difference in thickness of the bill but that is hard to ascertain in the field. This bird seems to have a thin bill.
