This bird stood out among the small flock as the purest white. At first I thought this was the one McKay's among a bunch of Snows, but researching now I believe they were mostly if not all McKay's.
Observation details
Lifer! ABA #472. Had about two minutes to look at a loose flock of about 9 birds before they were spooked. I took pictures of three individuals. According to the Birding article on identifying McKay's Bunting (Rogers 2005), Nunivak is a primary fall migration route and overwintering ground for McKay's Bunting.
