Observation details
Continuing. Bird gets into the maze of parked boats and it is a matter of luck whether you see it. I walked the entire length of the marina on all sides and didn't see it, but then it popped up for a couple of minutes near the dock MLQ gate at 12:30 pm. Pointed out to me by Tom Miko who got there two minutes before me, then the bird hid between boats. Got a couple of mediocre photos, decent looks. Nothing to add to descriptions by others. Dark face, pale bill, white under parts and under the wings seen when it lifted its body and flapped its wings. (33.723, -118.279) seems to be good location to look.
