Observation details
Newbie to gull id notes... the black-dominated wing tips contain 2 white dots, plus the underside of the wing tip also has black, so not an Iceland/Thayers. Bill more straw colored in Herring, as opposed to orange with Western. Eye color strong yellow/gold with Herring, Western have dark brown eyes becoming bright yellow by 3rd summer (tie). Western called out as sticking close to ocean, Herring called out as unlikely to venture inland (tie). Overall, confusing.
