Observation details
First time we've actually seen any bird species on the "dry" portion of Dry Lakes. This pair was sleeping right in the middle of the large dry expanse when we arrived, but gradually started moving around and eventually flew off. No yellow visible on lores of either bird, Canvasback-like head/bill slope, low trumpet calls. When one of the pair stretched its wings, the other did also. When one bobbed its head, the other did also.
