Adult male Ruby-throated Hummingbird at Lake Tamarisk Golf Club, Desert Center, Riverside County, CA on 11 Nov 2017. This bird was found the previous day by Curtis A. Marantz, and represents the latest record for California (the previous late record being an immature male in Arroyo Grande SLO 16-25 Oct 2006).

Observation details

The Ruby-throated Hummingbird continued until at least 3:30 pm, at which point it was spending most of its time perched in the top of the tall, leafy eucalyptus tree just south of the trailer park (33.740235,-115.390869). Prior to that, it was frequenting a hummingbird feeder due north inside the trailer park along the path between the trailers where the two sidewalks almost meet (33.740784,-115.391038).
