Observation details
***county bird, possibly first record in 20 years (and first in the SRV since the 60's?) Happened to be in close when I first started scanning the geese and the black bill jumped out right away. Clearly smaller than the Mute Swans, all dark bill with a more vertical lower rear edge, rounded top edge. Eye moderately distinct, slightest bit of yellow lores (barely visible in a couple photos, but was noticeable in the scope when it was in fairly close). Moved around the pond a lot, drifted almost out of sight to the left a couple times (and right in the sun towards noon).
