Observation details
Counted by fives. While observing redpolls on and around the feeder, all seemed to be about the same size with a small black chin patch, small bills, and often a palish supercilium. None appeared to be candidates for A. f. rostrata. Several times, groups flushed up from the feeder when the reason was not apparent to me. Often they would flush when the STJA flew in. A few times I observed a redpoll eating snow lodged in the branches of trees.
