NOTES: (Time: 16:00-16:20-17:05; Background Sounds: bee or fly, aircraft; Breeding Status: breeding; Stimulus for Sound: initially natural, then playback own song; Cut Length: Part A 11:47, B 11:00, C 3:00) Parts A,B and C. HPF 220. "Towards" mid cut there is a "plick-duet" between the male and female where they are "plick calling" together. Male and female calls are heard as they both call [and interact!]. The "female" annotation refers to the plick calls. The male was singing while she was "plicking". The male was singing, the female uttering the plick-call [and buzzes]. The male utters a "chew" song! Female plick calls. Annotation. [The female will call at the end of a "chew-call" when the male calls it.] [The male does "bill wipe". It is aggressive and in resonse to playback.] My annotation regarding the female being "lower" refers to the fact that she was "working" through the vegetation almost at ground level - the male remained higher in the bushes. They can both be heard foraging, the foliage was "noisy" and they sound like a small mammal working through the leaves!.
