Observation details
First seen distant, E of Head Ln, perched on a powerline crossbar. At 0954 it flew west, low over the contours of the landscape. I lost sight of it once behind terrain and then saw it land on a fencepost on the N property boundary in reach 3. It remained there until 1008, when it flew NE and out of sight behind a hill. I did not see it again. Size in comparison to telephone pole is much too large for MERL; very sparse dark markings below eliminate PEFA and denote an adult (juvenile would have more dark streaking).
