Observation details
This is not a rufina or morphna subspecies, but its probably a caurina or a kenaiensis. It sometimes started feeding at the waters edge and on the shore of Clover Point. The SOSP seemed very tired and barely flew, he mostly rested. Dark undertail coverts, distinct back stripes, dark throat, and greyer/sootier coloured plumage then normal, with rufous wings. It also had a longer and slimmer bill which I've never seen on rufina and morphna before. More photos of the same bird and a very similar bird I found in Comox BC can be found here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/128155881@N03/albums/72157692149618151
