Observation details
Found by me at around 9:00am. The bird was well above the high tide line and was found roughly one mile north of the second jettie. Associating loosely with two Black-bellied Plovers. Smaller then adjacent Black-bellies. Bright golden coloration showing on the back with some black. Yellowish wash on the face and nape. Overall warm buffy coloration, very unlike the colder grey upper parts and clean white belly of the basic plumaged Black-bellies. While being observed the bird moved around staying within a five yard radius of it's original position, heading further away from shore towards the navy base fence and into the sporadic patches of ice plant. The bird vocalised once while being observed. Many close-up photos obtained.
