Struck me as a large bird, but I could not see the head
Observation details
I thought this was a Northern Goshawk, however the view wasn’t clear and I no longer think it is (and was having doubts before the photo was flagged well after it was submitted). Juvenile. Very large accipiter. Barrel chested with brown streaks on chest. Undertail stripes very uneven. Head never seen well but appeared to be white supercillium. Photos through dense brush. Seen along creek SE of residence. Possibly seen earlier in the picnic area where I saw a bird too small to be a red-tail, but large for an accipter
