Observation details
Large marsh complex providing excellent habitat for migratory and resident marsh sparrows. Fairly tight group of three individuals west of the dirt road plus another individual further east. Slight variations among individuals but overall bright, orange buff-tones across chest and down flanks cleanly outlining white belly. Blurry, poorly defined dark streaking contained within buffy underparts (although variable streaking among individuals). Orange-buff malar and supercilium cleanly outlining a large gray auricular patch and matching the same buff tone on underparts. Upperparts more contrasting than in SALS; well defined whitish/gray braces running down scaps with clean gray nape and wide gray median crown stripe. Poor representative images attached. Most birds were not very cooperative and stayed hidden, never really perching out in the open.
