NOTES: (Species Sound: Infrequent. Breeding Status: Territorial? Behav. Context: Advertising? Sound Delivery Rate: Normal? Gen. Habitat: Grassy, marshy edges of the park's Laguna, surrounded by forest. Water Assoc: Small lake.) To my ear this sounds very like Laterallus melanophaius, but excellent, detailed, wide open telescope studies of this bird, or these birds, showed them to be unambiguously levraudi. No response to playback. Response to playback: No response. Habitat: Wetland, Freshwater, Lake, Pond.
