A captive Princess Parrot perching on its nest box. Princess Parrots (Polytelis alexandrae) are an irruptive desert species found in the arid parts of Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory. They are listed as vulnerable because numbers in the wild are declining. This captive Princess Parrot was perching on top of its nest box at the Rainbow Jungle parrot sanctuary at Kalbarri in Western Australia. Elevation: 19 m. Date added to IBC: September 27, 2019.
