Observation details
Loud, jarring, croak-like call heard in reeds near Horikappu River. Seen at one location and heard at another. Immediately ceased calling out once I approached. Large size, dark eye-stripe, black upper mandble, and orange lower mandble made it fairly easy to identify. Frequently seen singing in the spring but first time seen so late in the year.
