NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 1. Bulk reel: 451 a) Time: 1710. Natural calls. Cracking sounds are from burning brush. Quality: 1. Level: +5. b) Time: 1745. No doubt same bird, later. Quality: 1-2. Level: +5. c) Time: 1845. Ditto. Quality: 2. Level: +5. This bird was then collected = [male #4742]. It identifies as this species, although there is a color difference I believe due to freshness of plumage. However, identification should be confirmed. In this same spot at dawn this day I heard a song that could well have been of the Eastern Wood-Pewee. Unfortunately I didn't get to record it and next morning it didn't sing, perhaps because it had been collected.
