Observation details
Two apparently juvenile birds first spotted by Mark. Located on the last mudflat "island," pretty far south of the railroad spur. Studied at fairly close range for about 30 minutes, with nearby least, semi, pectorals, and white-rumped. Larger and much longer-winged than nearby peeps, but smaller and slimmer than pectorals. Full streaking through breast. Head and breast were strongly buffy/brown, in contrast to the more black/grey/white scalloped back, leading to juvenile conclusion. Very similar shape to the white-rumped, but more colorful. When flushed, noticed absence of white rump band (ruling out white-rumped).
