Observation details
Seen feeding in the taller vegetation near some Canada Geese. Distinct profile of a plegadis wader, with a dark body, long, curved bill, long neck, and lanky proportions. Greenish iridescent sheen very apparent on the wings. Exhibited skulky behavior, occasionally disappearing from view for minutes at a time. As the bird was seen at some distance, I was unable to get a meaningful look at the face and base of the bill, among other fine details. Therefore, I cannot completely eliminate Glossy Ibis. However, I feel that given our location, the time of year and the extremely low probability of encountering a GLIB in Oregon, it is safe to assume this bird is a White-faced Ibis. Have attached awful photos. Also took some poor video as well if needed.
