Observation details
Not sure what the status of Black-chinned in Catalina but probably pretty rare. Seen at the entrance to the botanical gardens. Only saw in in flight, never called. Tail pumping and long necked appearance as it fed. Costa's also pumps tail, but this bird did not appear short-tailed or sort necked. Took a few photos, and from photos shows sharp tail tips, purple iridescent (too bad it wasn't red). Looks like a young male
