NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 12. Bulk reel: 418 Weather: Cloudy, fair. a) 7:50 AM. Natural vocalizations, one bird. Quality: 1. Level: +3. b) After playback; several birds. Quality: 1. Level: +3. Although visibly reacting and moving excitedly about (~ 30 m. away), they wouldn't come closer. Then after repeated playback, after one bird had been collected (Male #6987). Birds paid no attention to playback. Quality: 1. Level: +3. At end there sings very prominently Smaragdolanius [Vireolanius] pulchellus. c) 1:15 PM. Cloudy, fair. No further playback since AM. Note: One bird sings much faster. Quality: 1-2. Level: +3. Sound stimulation was (other): playback own vocalization. Response to playback: No response.
