Observation details
(Full description and photos to submit to CBRC.) Typical waterthrush look and behavior. Plain, uniformly brown upper parts, including wings and tail, save for a thin buffy median crown strip visible when the bird was facing me. Striking, thick, bold white supercilium. White below, with course brown streaking on chest and flanks, but noticeably absent from throat. Buff wash to flanks. Pink legs. Pumping tail up and down as it worked along the creek, occasionally flying up into trees or grass, and always making hard "spik!" when flying off. Viewed for nearly an hour, often as close as ~5m.
