NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 11. Bulk reel: 403. 131 tape. a) Bird with male song heard in distance. It was brought somewhat closer by my whistled imitation of song of female. All recording here is after this. It stopped singing with last phrase recorded. Quality: 1. Level: +3. b) Various trials of whistled imitation showed that the bird responded more readily to the female-type song than to the male-type song (although it never sang anything but the male-type song). Quality: 1. Level: +3. Collected = male #7173. Response to playback: Approach.
