NOTES: Tape counter 173-271. This is very similar to the song of the Blue-winged Warbler - the first time I have heard it from a GW warbler. In 1988, I heard this song from a Brewster's Warbler at Otter Lake 8km to the south. The bird was moving around its territory, finally perching for some time in a poplar (8m). The bird's plumage was carefully observed - not different from the typical Golden-winged. Wind noise was troublesome at times. [Forty-one "Type I" songs, all of which are identical to the typical, "beee buzzzz" song of Vermivora pinus. It is also not exceptional for V. chrysoptera to sing songs like those of V. pinus (See BNA account). Quality added (2 - good signal but quite a bit of wind; the last set of songs - 6:15-7:00 - are overloaded slightly) - Curtis A. Marantz - 25 January 2005]. Other Behaviors: Advertise. Habitat: Thicket/Brush, Scrub.
