NESTLING(S); ADULT(S); Other recordist(s): DICKERMAN R.; [Soft grating calls apparently given by nestlings combined with 16 songs or fast "Wuk Series Calls" by the close bird (see p. 420 of Short, L. L. 1982. Woodpeckers of the World. Delaware Mus. Nat. Hist. 4:1-676). Other examples of this vocalizaton are given by a bird in the distance.
