So, again, referred to Crossley's guide and discovered that mockers do the 'robotal', 'segmental'(vs smooth and swift) wing spanning to 'pull-out' its prey hiding on the ground. Pretty ingenious and the only time they're quiet!
Observation details
Strange antics of one mocker- it was walking up the rocks but would stop every 5 sec or so to slowly open its wings, retract them, then move on- seen doing this ? 5-6 times before it went behind the rocks
