Observation details
At exactly 10:00 AM, three minutes after I sat down in my lawn chair to watch for migrants, I spotted a single Mississippi Kite circling right above our house. I ran in to get my camera, and I was able to get several identifiable photos before the bird continued SW. I expected it to be gone, however we relocated it as well as a second bird half an hour later. To our surprise, both kites remained in the area all day, and we left at least one bird still circling at 4:30 PM when we went back inside. Both birds were young. White and gray above and streaked brown below. Rather long squared tail, pointed wings. Graceful flight. This was our 153rd yard bird.
