NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 10. Bulk reel: 374. a) As I approached a bird flew up from the ground and perched in full view. It gave "purrs," then "screams" as flew to another tree across the road. Quality: 1-. Level: 0. b) Sounds given after playback of a). Bird remained on its new perch, then flew short distance to another, then farther away. Then after playback of the above, the bird came closer after still another playback. Sounds are throughout mostly "purr" types. Quality: 1, 1-2. Level: 0, +5. Note: Voice notes re: experiments with playing of field tapes. Sound stimulation was (other): playback own calls.
