NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 3. Bulk reel: 369. Weather: fair. This is no doubt same general population but different individuals as this spot is about 800m to N from other site. Before I started to record 2 birds gave "wing-whirr" displays but about 3 minutes elapsed [continued on next page:] before there commenced any general sound. This recording starts with "croak" calls of one bird. Also heard is Nictibius griseus. Note that the calls of the guan are not as hoarse and are at a higher pitch than those of previous cut. Voice notes indicate that got impression the birds actually move (fly) during the "wing-whirr" display. Then a "wing-whirr" close by is heard, apparently not by the calling bird. See Cut #11 of Micrastur ruficollis for another "wing-whirr" from this group. Length: 1'42". Quality: 1-2. Level: +5. Parabola: yes.
