A juvenile intermediate (in color) Long-tailed Jaeger was present in the southeast corner of Pond 2 at Hornsby Bend on the morning and early afternoon of 8-31-17. The bird was swimming and actively feeding during the 85-minute period during which I observed it. The bird did not fly. The bird had a gray head and a pale bill with a dark tip. The throat appeared gray and lightly streaked and the breast appeared heavily streaked. The vent and under-tail coverts appeared heavily barred. The bird's scapulars, lesser, median and greater coverts, and tertial feathers were dark with pale tips. The bird's primary feathers appeared dark without noticeable pale tips.
