Observation details
Minimum count by twos - flock of 35 counted flying downstream. Count includes at least 17 juveniles. I saw the first juvenile in the top of a snag above a Chokecherry thicket in reach 2, a spot where I often seen waxwings perching. It had fairly distinct, dusky vertical streaks on its underside, and a notable amount of white on the face. After the flock of 35 waxwings flew by, a smaller flock (split from the large one?) flew back, and many perched in these snags - I counted 17 juveniles and 1 adult-aspect bird. Watched at least 3 birds frequently sallying over the stream in reach 3 - cloud of small insects seen over the stream here at the same time.
