NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 7. Bulk reel: 340 Weather: Clear, fair. Natural song by a foraging bird. Quality: 1. Level: 0, +3. (Requires editing for parabola noise.) Then after playback. (Requires editing for parabola noise.) Quality: 1. Level: +3. At end is some drumming by Centurus [Melanerpes] rubricapillus; also song by Platycichla flavipes. 203 tape. LN. Note: For song of B. auricapillus from Brazil, currently considered as B. culicivorus (cf. 1966, p. 452, de Schauensee), see recordings filed under Misc. Parulidae - BRAZIL. The Venezuelan birds south of Orinoco are considered to belong to the auricapillus group and in fact my Cut 6 under culicivorus sounds more like the Brazil recording than like the N. Central Venezuela culicivorus. This should be checked into further.
