horrible recording
Observation details
Continuing. Photo and audio included. Heard first from Whaley Rd. The bird was south of me. I knew I was hearing the Whooper straight away. Sound was like a Sandhill Crane but different. I made a horrible recording while on Whaley Rd. The bird sounded quite a ways away. So I got in the car and headed toward the sound hoping to get some views. Finally found it in a swale area north of Canadandigua Rd. LIFER. Sweet looking bird. Scope view too. For the chaser. Checklist location are exact coordinates where the bird was located. I viewed it from Canadandigua Rd. Bird was seen in distance looking west through trees. CAUTION - there are not a lot of cars but those passing by are moving FAST. Road is curvy so I'm pretty much standing in a blind spot. I did not feel real comfortable standing on the shoulder. It would have been nice to stay longer to drink in the views but caution prevails.
